ractitioner-type open peer-review might be
used or not for some monographs or essays submitted to the Fellowship Training (Formação Avançada) for a more academic
quality control under the Editorial Board, but as we publish resumes of
postgraduate level work, short essays and advanced technical papers in
Non-Academic Areas such as Specific Arts Subjects for training
musicians and future music educators (i.e. Instrumental Music, technical Concepts of
Performance and contemporary Composition methods, and other music practitioner
topics alike), these papers and short essays in general are Not peer-reviewed in
the same way as academic journals. Instead, we require at least a brief literature
review from all candidates submitting a technical (i.e. practitioner
type) monograph or essay. They are more
academic than for example articles or columns of international magazines
for musical performance methods, instrumental technique and sheet music
publication, but are shurely less academic in terms of scope, than for example a Medical
or Science academic journal! We aim to publish 'Music Practitioner Journals'
for performers, composers, teachers and tutors, at the highest
possible standard of music performance and composition for technical
music literature, very specific and practical in nature, not generic at all, and in other related Arts Subjects, or connected to the Practical Performance and Composition fields. Each monograph resume must
receive feedback from both the Editor and 1 Member of our Editorial Boards of the Academy's journal clubs (scientific societies) for the Fellowship Training (postgraduate level professional development). Only full
members preparing an Essay Assessment for Fellowship Entry are able to
participate and publish with the scientific societies.
Tipo de trabalhos que a revista técnica publica:
- Atividade de I&D de cariz técnico e profissional (Investigação e Desenvolvimento)
a) resumos (Abstracts) de projetos de investigação científica do tipo 'practitioner'. Estes artigos poderão ter um open peer-review ou não - apenas o resumo será publicado após alterações ou correções mínimas no projeto (5 a 10 páginas), e com a aprovação do editor o qual poderá, se necessitar de uma 2ª opinião, consultar um especialista externo (membro honorário ou um dos seus pares);
b) revisões literárias (Literature Reviews);
c) ensaios breves de cariz técnico e prático.
Para normas de escrita académica, estrutura de trabalhos, formatação de texto e leitura de provas por favor escreva um e-mail ao Secretariado e Lab da ALPMC-CI através da página 'Contactos'.

- Our Professional and Practitioner International Journals:
They are more suited for
practitioners or professionals who work in industry, trade, arts, or service
fields.
It’s important to note
that these are not (and should not be), research-oriented or scholarly journals
– are of practitioner type and/or for research in professional topics or
industry-oriented. We cover very serious material and develop and
innovate
for new knowledge, important to be shared to future generations, and
suitable to college students, ALPMC-CI trainees, professionals
and teachers, and for this specific case peer-revision it’s not a
priority and have some
disadvantages.
On the other hand some
research articles might be sent to a process of peer-revision (non-blinded) in
our professional journals by an expert in the field, when the necessity occurs,
but this is only in exceptional cases.
All material (either of
practitioner, professional or of scholarly type) must pass the editorial
process for quality control before being published (for online or print journal
editions). Minor amendments are often required for graduate student essays and
practitioner articles or professional monographs.
Research-oriented academic
papers are not the specialty and scope at ALPMC-CI™.
Our
focus is more specific on the practices of a profession or art, or of
cultural scope. We rely on the judgement of the Editor, and may also
take an additional opinion from a member of the National Council's
Editorial Boards.
