For Stages 2 and 3 (Guitar only):
Since this is an educational or training activity, the pieces should be played directly from the score at a moderate or even slow tempo, so as not to lose the rhythm and pulse from beginning to end of the piece while reading the score (lead sheet). Solo improvisation is performed by interpreting prepared chord charts, written for the purpose (at stage 2 guitar - re-arrangements with chord subs and/or diminished 7ths).
Note: the trainee should play the tunes and solo improvisations directly from the sheet music on the videos
Stage 3 (guitar only) is an improvement of one specialization started in stage 2 (with the application of chord subs and some melodic minor scale modes on the improvisation, in old time swing and popular music tunes), and may, or may not (this is only at the description of the trainee), include 1 solo jazz piece prepared to be played from memory.
